THE DRESS CODE

The White Tie Event calls for a full formal attire for men with White Tie, Vest and Shirt. Women wear Elegant Gowns. Hair is worn up. White Tie Events are actually more formal than Black Tie Events and is usually called for for Charity or Society Balls. (Dress: Oscar de la Renta)

The Casual Dress Code allows for jeans, summer dresses and cotton skirts. You may wear anything from a cotton blouse to a T-shirt. Men may wear befitting shorts. Appropriate shoes however, are still a must. You may wear sneakers, but no flip-flops or slippers! Remember, it's casual not the beach. If the host or hostess wants a more dressed-up approach (e.g. no sneakers or shorts), they would have to state so in the invite.

Casual Black Tie. Tux or no tux? Tie or no tie? A bow tie? Oh, it says Creative Black Tie. So... maybe just a dark tie would do? Or does it have to be white? Or no tie? Then again, it does say Black Tie... Maybe better stick to a tie or bow tie. Maybe one with dots.. Or does it have to be plain? Cummerbund? Yes? No?
The Dress.. Short or long? Does it even matter?
Well, if you're a free spirit who lives by their own rules, the answer is 'no'. If you're a stickler for rules, then the answer is 'yes'. If you're like me, you will want to know the rules and then break them.
