BOOK Viviane Sassen 'Flamboya'
Over a period of eight years, from 2002 - 2010, Viviane Sassen visited Kenya (where she had lived as a child), South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Ghana, and ventured into a 'journey through the mysterious remnants of her memories' moma. In 2002 Viviane Sassen saw nostalgia draw her back to childhood playgrounds. She traveled to Kenya, were she had lived until the age of five and armed with her camera thought to capture this place of 'vivid colours and strong contrasts of light and dark' that she had left behind as a little girl.
